EXPLORING NEW PLACES

On the first of June, I stood at Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe. It was windy and delightfully cool after the heat of Lisboa. Later that day I boarded a cruise ship that took me to Guernsey, France, England, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, and Denmark--mostly places I had never been before. After we left Portugal, the weather was cool enough for long walks around beautiful, old cities. I ate so much, I but walked it off.
